Cleveland Metropolitan School District Wilbur Wright Renovation

VAA provided architectural design services for the $15.9 million renovation and restoration of Wilbur Wright Elementary School. Originally constructed in 1929, Wilbur Wright is listed on the Cleveland Landmarks Commission’s Register of Historic Places. 



The interior renovations included painting of all rooms and corridors, reconfiguration of the existing central office, ADA restroom upgrades in existing restrooms, cafeteria upgrades, and new furniture throughout the building. Several areas throughout the building were reconfigured to accommodate new classrooms and offices, as well as a new STEM lab. Renovations also included upgrades to the existing auditorium, featuring new stage lighting, curtains, balcony seat repairs, and sound system, as well as upgrades to the gymnasium. Exterior improvements included upgrades to the parking lot with new site fencing, partial masonry repairs, cleaning, and a new monument sign.
