Architecture & Interior Design

DVA Architecture provided architectural design services for the renovation of the 6th floor of Playhouse Square’s historic Idea Center to accommodate Cleveland State University’s new School of Film and Media Arts. Our team worked with industry specialists to design spaces that feature state-of-the-art resources, with the goal of attracting, educating, and training students to work successfully in this expanding field. This new facility provides the program room to grow as well as a more inviting, contemporary environment to attract new students and fulfill the school’s educational mission.

New equipment was installed to enable faculty to train students in the kinds of technologies students will encounter in the professional realm. The motion picture production lab, computer labs, production classrooms, and cloud-based editing technologies enhance the University’s ability to bring contemporary film, television and interactive media production practices into the classroom. Additional spaces include finishing suites, two 2,000+ SF soundstages, a student kitchenette, and a variety of seminar, huddle, and computer lab spaces.
